  • For some reason, the full article isn’t loading for me, so I guess I will have to go off of what you’ve got here. These tips are great! I didn’t think about setting a payment schedule with the company. Having a payment settled beforehand will help the company, and you, know what to expect and what the schedule for the construction is.

Stay tuned, there’s more to come!

  • Thanks for the help. I am going to need a general contractor soon for a project coming up. I like the idea of getting bids, as you suggested. Should the bids be given after seeing the job in person?

  • I like the seventh tip you mentioned in this post. Price really shouldn’t be everything when it comes to finding a general contractor, even though a lot of people decide by it. Of course, you must stay within your budget, but the cheapest option is not always the best one. I really hope my sister remembers that when she starts selecting a general contractor for her home. She is quite frugal when it comes to things like this.

  • These are some great tips for hiring a home remodeling contractor. I like how you talked about investigating the facts. What I take from that is actually looking at their references, and seeing how they did.

  • We are looking to do a remodel on our kitchen. It is important that we find a general contractor that will provide the quality work we need at a reasonable price. I liked your tip to set a payment schedule, this can help keep everything on track for completion.

  • I appreciate your tips on getting a phone interview before you hire a contractor. It would seem that talking with them before you hire them would allow you to be sure that you get someone who is going to be easy to work with. I’m looking for a contractor to help with some home renovations so I’ll have to find someone who is properly licensed to do the job.

  • Meeting face to face sounds like a great thing to do before hiring a contractor. I also appreciate what was said about getting recommendations. I have also been counseled to ensure that the selected contractor is licensed and insured to ensure that your project is secured.
